Penny Paterson has announced her retirement from AWMA effective June 12.  Penny has been with AWMA, and the former National Candy Wholesalers Association (NCWA), for 25 years.  In actuality, Penny has spent 37 years with the Association having started in 1972, working for Ray Foley for two years and then part-time for 10 years while working for another trade association.  She came back to the Association full time in 1983. Penny is AWMA’s Corporate Secretary and has also worked in various capacities through the years – the most recent as AWMA’s Assistant to the President and AWMA’s Membership Manager.  Penny has seen many changes during those years, and she is the one person everyone goes to when we need information on past events.  Penny will be missed not only by the AWMA staff, but by all the AWMA members who Penny has worked with over the years.  She is a familiar face to all of our members and she will be definitely missed.

Penny and her husband Bob are retiring to their home in Myrtle Beach, SC at the end of June.  The good news is that Penny may come and work some of the AWMA events, so you may see her at the upcoming Summit & ABX and at next year’s AWMA REAL DEAL EXPO.

We know you all join us in wishing Penny the best and to thank her for the wonderful years she has dedicated to this industry and to the NCWA/AWMA.
