AWMA Lauds Passage of HR 2587 – Protecting Jobs from Government Interference Act

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed legislation – HR 2587 – entitled the Protecting Jobs from Government Interference Act.  This bill, passed by the House by a vote of 238 to 186, would combat increasing threats to the basic tenets of free enterprise that are coming from the Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board as these agencies attempt to circumvent the congressional process in order to implement policies that promote unionization at the expense of an employee’s right to make an informed choice about union representation.

AWMA was a signatory on a letter to Congress urging support for this measure and we are gratified by the House passage of this important legislation.  AWMA will now work to promote passage of the bill in the Senate.  A copy of the letter sent by AWMA and others joined in the coalition can be found at this link:
