AWMA To Participate in FDA’s CTP Stakeholder Discussion Series in August
AWMA requested to be an active participant in the upcoming U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products Stakeholder Discussion Series in Dallas, Texas. This particular discussion is focused on Distributors, Retailers and Wholesalers and our role in the tobacco supply chain. FDA recently notified AWMA that our association will be included as part of the panel to be discussing the implementation of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.
According to the FDA, these Stakeholder Discussion Series are designed to “focus on key topics specific to the primary stakeholder community present” and are limited in terms of the number of those invited to actually participate to “ensure the opportunity for meaningful engagement and dialogue between CTP officials and the specific stakeholder group.” AWMA is pleased to have been invited to participate in this limited group and looks very much forward to promoting greater understanding of the distributor role in the tobacco supply chain and ensuring our concerns are heard by the agency.
