In June 1983, The Ray Foley Memorial Youth Education Foundation was created in memory of the late Ray Foley, executive vice president of the National Candy Wholesalers Association. The Foundation provides educational assistance to individuals involved in or planning to join the candy/tobacco/ convenience-products wholesale distribution industry.

The scholarship program annually offers two $5,000 scholarships to deserving students. These awards are based on academic merit and a career interest in the candy/tobacco/convenience-products wholesale industry. Each scholarship is paid by the AWMA Distributors Education Foundation.

The Distributors Education Foundation invites all students who meet the following requirements to apply:

All applicants must:

  • be employed on an ongoing basis by an AWMA distributor member OR be an immediate family member (spouse, son/daughter, stepson/stepdaughter) of an employee of an AWMA distributor member;
