Bonomo's Turkish Taffy is Back

If you grew up anywhere near New York City, you probably remember Bonomo's Turkish Taffy.  Invented in Coney Island in the 1940s by Victor Bonomo, the mixture of corn syrup and egg whites was neither Turkish or taffy, but a kind of nougat.  Bonomo, who died in 1999 at at the age of 100, sold the company 40 years ago. It became part of Tootsie Roll Industries of Chicago, which stopped making the candy in 1989.
