Canadians Reaching for Fruit First, Then Potato Chips

Canadian consumers are snacking more frequently, a new study by market research firm The NPD Group shows. “Compared to breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacking is the fastest growing meal occasion in the past decade in Canada,” the study, called Snacking in Canada, noted. And while fruit remains the top snack food choice, Canadians are also reaching more often for potato chips, the study released Tuesday indicated. Canadians’ potato chip consumption is approaching that of Americans, the study found.
