Candy Prices Rise on Sugar Highs

The Primrose Candy Co. on Chicago's Near Northwest Side every day churns out millions of individually-wrapped candies, from root beer barrels to "Starlight" mints. Sugar is its lifeblood.  But keeping that sugar flowing is an increasingly expensive proposition for Primrose and the entire candy industry: Sugar prices are hovering at 29-year highs.
