DEF Scholarship Winners
AWMA and the Distributor Education Foundation (DEF) congratulate Marc Herschberger and Coby Rodman, winners of the 2011 Ray Foley Memorial Scholarships. Marc and Coby will each receive $5,000 to help pay their college expenses for the coming year.
Marc Herschberger
Marc is entering his junior year at Metropolitan State College of Denver where he is majoring in business management and business marketing. Marc is not only a scholar but also an exceptional athlete who believes that “hard work, dedication and perseverance can overcome any challenge that stands in the way.” His exceptional transcript and lengthy list of achievements certainly attests to the validity of that. Marc’s father, Linden Herschberger, has been a driver for McLane Western for 26 years, and Marc’s brother Scott Herschberger is also employed at McLane Western.
Coby Rodman
Coby will be a freshman at Penn State University at University Park’s Smeal College of Business where he will major in business management. Besides academics and athletics, Coby has traveled extensively and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in Costa Rica where he helped build a house refurbished/built desks for a middle school, constructed bunk beds for local families, and helped run a summer camp for one of the poorest communities in the world. He also organized American Red Cross Club fundraisers and raised significant funds for breast cancer research. Coby’s mother, Lori Rodman, is vice president of sales at Century Distributors where his aunt, Debbie Robins, is president and his uncle, David Sadugor, is vice president of operations.
Congratulations to these deserving students – it is an honor to help them achieve their future goals.
