Food companies like General Mills Inc. and consumer groups have joined forces to urge the Obama Administration to release new food safety regulations that were required by law to be published more than four months ago. Now, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration official is reportedly working behind the scenes to pressure regulators to release the rules, currently being held up at the Office of Management and Budget.
