Media Update regarding General Tobacco and Arkansas Court Order
Vibo Corporation d/b/a General Tobacco ("General Tobacco") announced that an Arkansas Court vacated today its Order entered on January 26, 2010, which had denied the Arkansas Attorney General's motion to remove General Tobacco's cigarette brands from the Directory of approved brands to sell in that State and had ordered the Arkansas Attorney General to arbitrate the dispute ordered in 2006. The Court will allow the State until February 8, 2010 to file further papers before ruling in the case.
General Tobacco is optimistic concerning the Arkansas action and has requested that all States, at a minimum, refrain from delisting and reinstitute General Tobacco's brands where they have been delisted until a Court has considered and ruled on the States' asserted grounds for delisting. GT has informed customers that they should continue to respect the delisting dates that were previously announced by various States until they hear from those States otherwise.
