Milton Hershey National Volunteer Day

Residents of Twin Oaks Nursing Home had some special visitors Sunday. About two dozen elementary students from Weiser and Pitcher student homes of Milton Hershey School brought the residents homemade greeting cards and visited with them for a couple of hours.  The visit was part of a larger event in which students from Milton Hershey School fanned out across Lebanon, Lancaster and Dauphin counties in a celebration of the first Milton Hershey National Volunteer Day. They were joined by faculty, staff, alumni and the Hershey Co. and its employees to recognize a 100-year tradition of giving to the community and in honor of the spirit of Milton Hershey, the founder of the school.
