Pine State Trading Co. Holds Annual Trade Shows
Pine State Trading Co. held their two annual trade shows, March 22, 2011 in Augusta, ME and March 24, 2011 in Worcester, MA. Joan Fay, editor and associate publisher of AWMA’s Convenience Distribution magazine attended the March 24 event, held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester, MA. The show featured a full hall of exhibits, with products ranging from candy, snacks, foodservice, tobacco, general merchandise, store supplies and even pet snacks. Exhibitors and attendees were in for a busy day of business and networking.
Despite the threat of snow, the turnout was good and there was an increase in orders written. But it wasn’t all work. A live band provided entertainment throughout the day. Retail attendees were periodically called to the Greenback Grabber cash booth for the chance to take home some extra cash. Buyers who placed orders were rewarded by vendors with a chance to win tickets to a Boston Red Sox game. They were also eligible for the premium program prizes as they checked out. And as the show wound down, the band could be heard playing the Sox’ seventh inning stretch song “Sweet Caroline.”
