Promotions Accounted For 23% of CPG Sales Volume in 2010

Major makers of food and household products used coupons, in-store deals and other promotions to sell nearly one-fourth of their goods in North America last year as shoppers sharpened their focus on finding the best prices, a new study showed. The volume of goods sold during promotions jumped by 80 percent in 2010, according to Terra Technology.
