Wrigley Leaves Family Chewing-Gum Company

William Wrigley Jr., great-grandson of the Wrigley chewing-gum company's founder, has left the company -- 15 months after Wrigley's $23 billion sale to Mars Inc. Employees learned of Wrigley's departure in a Jan. 4 e-mail, in which Wrigley, who had stayed as chairman of Mars' Wrigley subsidiary, said he will "focus on several business and philanthropic initiatives in Chicago and around the world."
