The AWMA Day on the Hill event began with a reception on Tuesday evening at the Grand Hyatt Washington, followed by dinner and a guest speaker.
Jon Burklund, Burklund Distributors, Inc., AWMA board member and chairman of the Government Affairs Committee, addressed his peers before introducing author, columnist and television commentator Jeffrey Birnbaum.
"There is no substitute for face-to-face contact with your representatives," Burklund said. "Forums such as the Day on the Hill provide a unique opportunity for our industry to build these strong relationships."
