AWMA’s government affairs program includes efforts to bring AWMA members to the Nation’s capitol to lobby on behalf of major legislative issues of interest to our industry. AWMA believes there is no substitute for face-to-face contact with legislators and the AWMA Day on the Hill program provides a unique opportunity for our members to build strong relationships with their lawmakers in Congress.
On May 17, 2006 AWMA distributor members joined forces in Washington, D.C. to bring the industry’s voice on major legislative issues to the attention of their U.S. Representatives and Senators. AWMA succeeded in making over 60 appointments with various legislators and their staff in the Nation’s Capitol and AWMA members agreed it was a great success.
